What we can help with
- Corrections. If something we published is wrong, out of date, or described in a way that could lead someone into an unsafe procedure, tell us which page and what the problem is. This is the message we most want to receive.
- Clarifications. If a guide is ambiguous or assumes knowledge it should not, say so. We would rather rewrite a paragraph than have it misread.
- Suggestions. Topics within our scope — home maintenance, workspace setup, safety and tools — are always worth proposing.
- Rights and privacy requests. Email the address above and say what kind of request it is, so it is handled within the timescales in our policies.
What we cannot help with
We want to set expectations honestly rather than leave you waiting for a reply that will not come.
- Diagnosing your specific vehicle. We are not a repair service and cannot advise on an individual fault, noise, warning light or symptom. Diagnosis needs the car in front of a technician with the right equipment. Please use a qualified local shop.
- Telling you whether a repair quote is fair. Labour rates, parts pricing and regional costs vary too much for a remote opinion to be worth anything.
- Selling or sourcing parts, tools or fluids. We sell nothing and hold no stock.
- Booking work. We do not operate a garage and have no service network.
- Emergencies. If a vehicle is unsafe, has been involved in a collision, or has an active fire, fuel or brake problem, do not email us. Stop using it and contact the appropriate emergency or roadside service immediately.
Response times
We aim to acknowledge editorial and general email within a few business days. Privacy requests are handled within the period described in the Privacy Policy. We cannot promise a reply to every message, and messages that are unlawful, abusive or automated are not answered.
Before you write about a guide
It is worth a quick check of your owner's manual first. A large share of the questions we receive about intervals, fluid specifications, capacities and torque figures are answered there for your exact vehicle, and the manual outranks anything general we could tell you.
